The Miss Memorial Day Pageant works to introduce young
women to their government.  Our Queens become more aware of
their government and how it affects their lives. Government Day
is an opportunity for the girls to see first hand how their
government is running. The Queens  meet with female leaders in
state government, tour the Georgia State Capital, view the
House and Senate, enjoy the Georgia Museum, lunch at a
Federal Building, view jobs available in the governmental sector,
meet with the Governor and learn how bills become laws.  They
become more aware of how their state government operates.
The Miss Memorial Day Pageant understands that by removing
the mystery of government, our youth will see service to their
state as a possibility when choosing a career in the service to
their country or state.  Voting and Volunteering make great
leaders and our state is always looking for
the next great leader.
