Welcome

Welcome to the Miss Memorial Day Scholarship Pageant. We are a patriotic
scholarship pageant open to any girl ages 6months through 23 years old that
resides in the state of Georgia. This pageant encourages young women to
become involved in their community, schools, and country in the areas of
leadership, volunteering, and community service. Our slogan, Leadership
Through Service, says it all. We are involved with the City of Dacula and the
Annual Memorial Day Celebration. We are the official pageant that provides the
Memorial Day Queen and Court for the annual Dacula Memorial Day Festival
and Parade.

Our MISS (17-23) contestants will wear a banner/sash representing their town,
community, school or area in the pageant. You must have your application in by
APRIL 14th in order for your banner/sash to be made. Additional area banners
will be ordered for late entries. The Director and the entry will decide on her
title. The early entries will be first to get their chosen titles. If your area is
already taken the Director will assign another title to the contestant. If you
currently hold a title for your town, school or area please consider representing
your same title for our pageant. For example if you put Miss Jackson County
on your entry form and that title is taken, you may be given the title Miss
Commerce. Please have your entry in by April 14th if you are in the MISS (age
disision) pageant.

All Miss Memorial Day Queens age 6 and up will ride on the Pageant float in
the Dacula Memorial Day Parade. Baby and Tiny winners will also appear in the
parade but will ride inside a vehicle for safety reasons. We look forward to your
participation and yearly involvement with this system. Please inform yourself
about our categories, crowns and queens. The Pageant will be held April 28,
2012. Pageant entry Fee is $80 for all categories but the MISS (17 and up)
contestants which cost $90. This fee included photogenic entry for all age
categories as well as the 6 Royalty Titles and the Baby, Tiny, Petite, and Little,
Miss "Prettiest" Titles also. You may enter any 8x10 color or black and white
photo for the photogenic portion of the pageant. We will have a Miss American
Beauty, winner of the new Portfolio Division, in both the first and second
pageant this year.

We are excited to offer many unique prizes and opportunities for our queens.
This pageant offers a way for young ladies to learn about modeling, fashion,
leadership, politics, community service, and patriotism.

Each girl who enters the pageant and completes it with proper pageant
manners will become a Memorial Day Princess and will receive a Princess Sash,
Princess CROWN, and walk in the Memorial Day Parade held in Dacula on
THE LAST MONDAY in May. This is our 7th year and we are inviting ALL our
past and present Princesses and Queens to participate this year! Many
families attend the huge celebration each year and enjoy the parade, festival,
and entertainment.

            RED, WHITE, & BLUE
      FASHION OPENING NUMBER

This year all our contestants will take part in the Red White and Blue Fashion
Show Opening Number. Each contestant will wear their best patriotic outfit and
appear on stage and introduce themselves to the audience. The younger girls
will be announced by our MC. The scores will go towards the over all score and
the over all top girl from the entire day and will be sashes as Miss Liberty. Get
shopping now as there are wonderful outfits currently available. Have fun with
this Miss Liberty title!
